From the streets of North London to the stages of Australia enter the UK’s leader of the new school and champion of the underground sound, Scorcher.
Witness the cutting edge of London bass music as Scorcher brings his dynamic live show to Tone for 1 night only on October 23rd fusing elements of grime, dubstep, dance hall and hip hop into a no hold barred bass music blitz.
Music was instilled in Scorcher from a very young age. Refining his abilities as he grew, Scorcher released his first CD; Simply the Best in 2006. Drawing on his experiences and environment, the mixtape for the most part was a harsh insight into inner city London living. Showcasing a variety of musical influences, the underground release combined grime, hip hop, dancehall and even 80’s pop to a fast growing fan base.
At just the tender age of 24, this rising underground star has already carved a successful independent career establishing himself as one of the UK’s hottest new MCs with over 2 million video views on YouTube. After 6 years of building his profile as one of the most dynamic artists in the UK bass music scene, Scorcher was snapped up by Geffen / Universalearlier this year. The North-London MC and entrepreneur is now ready to launch his latest lyrical assault with the release of his brand new single,‘It’s My Time’ on September 17th 2010.
Produced by Quincy Tones and The Next Rooms, new single ‘It’s My Time’ is not only a statement but an anthem. From its military drum intro, to the inner city kid’s choir-singing chorus, to its electric guitar crescendo, this hard-hitting track highlights Scorcher’s determination for his creativity to be heard. Not content with just writing the track, Scorcher took it upon himself to produce and direct the song’s video with the help of his own company,Staple House Productions.
